ASC featured in National Association of Home Builders Video
The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) contacted Associated Scaffolding Company (ASC) to film a scaffold training video for their website. The purpose of the video is to show the proper erection procedures for a frame scaffold and a pump jack scaffold, and to create safety awareness when working with scaffolding.
On September 26, 2017, after months of preparation and scheduling, the film and production crew from NAHB traveled to Durham, NC to start the shoot on a live jobsite. The beginning of the film shows ASC erectors properly leveling the base of the scaffold. They then built a two-level 13’ tall scaffold, demonstrating the proper erection procedures of scaffold components such as frames, braces, walkboards, guardrails, and ladder access. After completion, a pump jack scaffold was erected while showing the proper use of fall protection.
Associated Scaffolding Company would like to thank everyone with the National Association of Home Builders, as well as Hearthstone Luxury Homes LLC, who allowed us to shoot the film on their jobsite.
Update:
We received a letter from NAHB Assistant Vice-President of Labor, Safety & Health Robet Matuga thanking ASC for our help in creating the safety video. Here is an excerpt from it:
On behalf of the more than 140,000 members of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), I would like to sincerely thank Associated Scaffolding for its valuable contribution during the development of our scaffolding safety video toolbox talk. We believe that this new construction safety resource will assist builders, trade contractors, and other industry professionals in understanding the key scaffold hazards encountered during home construction and the safe work practices used to reduce the risk of accidents.
We appreciate Mr. Matuga’s kind words and look forward to assisting the NAHB with any future scaffold training needs.
